SMED

Developed within the Toyota Production System, the SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) method includes techniques enabling to perform the itemized analysis of a sequence of operations, and eliminate any non-value added activity. Employees must pool their ideas to develop new and more performing work processes. The objective is to reduce assembly and set-up times to increase production equipment availability.
